With over 19 years of legal experience, Kathryn (Katy) Boortz is a fierce advocate for juveniles and families navigating the legal system. From school disciplinary hearings to serious criminal charges, she brings a wealth of courtroom experience and a deep understanding of how legal issues impact young people and their futures. As both an attorney and a mother of three, Katy approaches every case with the perfect balance of strategic advocacy and compassionate guidance, giving parents confidence and peace of mind.
Katy began her legal career in Atlanta, Georgia, where she handled a wide range of cases—from theft to homicide—many of which she successfully tried before a jury. She served as a private defense attorney before founding her own law firm, where she dedicated herself to protecting the rights of juveniles and their families.
Now based in the Texas Hill Country, Katy is proud to serve her community and continue her mission of helping families navigate complex legal challenges. She is actively involved in her children’s schools, volunteers in local organizations, and serves as a leader in her church and professional circles. She was recently selected for the Bulverde Spring Branch Chamber of Commerce Leadership Academy and has contributed to Comal ISD’s Collaborative Vision Committee.
Katy is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Georgia and is a member of the Juvenile Law and School Law sections of the State Bar of Texas.
